welcome to our website!

We are a four-piece Blues and Classic Rock band based in the North-West of England.

One definition for the meaning of ‘Cutters Law’ :....

In Dickensian times, the gentry carried their cash around in purses that hung from their belts on leather thongs. To steal the purse, a thief simply cut the thongs and ran off with the purse… These thieves became known as purse-cutters or simply ‘Cutters’.

Even after the rich folks got smart and put their purses in their pocket, pick-pockets were still referred to as cutters. As depicted in Dickens’ Oliver Twist, they often operated in gangs, where at the end of the day it was the Cutters Law to divide each day’s booty equally between the gang members.

We don’t of course associate with the theft side of the discussion, but we do feel that this sense of equality best sums up our approach to being a band.

We think it’s a cool name too!!

The site will evolve from time to time so please check in and see how we're doing, Thanks for looking...... Cheers!
